About Dr. Prajith Jeyaprakash

Dr Prajith Jeyaprakash is an internationally trained interventional cardiologist and clinical academic. He studied at James Ruse Agricultural High School, graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2013 and completed his cardiology fellowship through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2021.

He subsequently earned a PhD from the University of Sydney in 2025, where his research focused on innovative therapies for life threatening heart attack using therapeutic ultrasound. His doctoral research was supported by the prestigious Charles Coughlan Heart Foundation PhD Scholarship. His work on sonothrombolysis led to his selection as a finalist in the internationally renowned Arthur Weyman Young Investigator Awards in Seattle, USA in 2022.

Dr Jeyaprakash further advanced his subspecialty training through an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at King's College Hospital, London. During this time, he gained extensive experience in complex coronary procedures including bifurcation and left main interventions, chronic total occlusions, advanced calcium modification therapies, cardiogenic shock and intracoronary imaging.

He currently holds Interventional Cardiology appointments at Nepean Public and Nepean Private Hospitals. He is also the Director of Cardiology Training at Nepean Hospital and plays an active role with teaching and mentoring junior doctors.Dr Jeyaprakash remains actively involved in international clinical studies and academic collaborations. With more than 25 peer-reviewed publications and advanced qualifications in clinical epidemiology and biostatistics, he is committed to advancing cardiovascular medicine while delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to his patients.

In his spare time Dr Jeyaprakash enjoys spending time with his family, playing football and going on hikes with his friends.
